Our Mission:
The Lupa Newsletter features stories and poetry from Filipinos around the world.
Guidelines:
Rolling submissions.
One submission at a time.
We accept nonfiction prose or poetry.
First-person account: must be from your (the writer’s) point of view. (Cannot be a story about someone else.) You may use pseudonyms.
In English. You may submit a piece in Filipino, as long as there is also an English translation.
Tip: Consider writing about a specific instance or event instead of a thought piece.
1,000 words maximum. (You may submit a 1,000-word excerpt from a longer work, and we can provide a link for readers to “Read More” as they wish. You must provide the link to your longer piece.)
For poetry: You may submit multiple poems as long as the total word count is
<1,000 words. For images: You can submit an image to accompany your piece, but we won’t accept images with identifiable people in it. Bonus if the image is of your visual art piece; those are best.
On Compensation:
The Lupa Newsletter is not a profit-making endeavor but a community-building one. We are a volunteer-led crew, and we want to keep the newsletter free for readers. Therefore, there is not compensation for our writers at this time. In the meantime, we would love to support writers by sharing your work.

We post only as often as there are submissions, so please consider submitting and don’t forget to share with friends who may be interested in this content!
